The Future of Gaming for 2008

It is the beginning of a new year and GameYaad.com has to thank THE STAR and all its readers for the past four years. Thank you for all the support you have given to us and for helping the gaming industry in Jamaica to boom to the level it is now.

We have come a far way, and still have much to offer. We are trying to make our mark and with your help we can do just that. With input from all of you, we at GameYaad.com will not only bring more aspects of the multi-billion dollar industry to Jamaica, but, also turn Jamaica's gaming experience into a profitable business and one in which those who are playing games as true sportsmen can enjoy.

Next Generation Consoles

The year has started off with Wii being the most popular and most difficult console in the world to get your hands on. It has been out for one year and three months and has been outselling the Playstation3 three-folds. The BlueRay technology has failed to make an impact on the sale of the Playstation 3. But, HD DVD increased the sales for Xbox360 by 190,000 over the Thanksgiving weekend, last year. So, I can honestly say if no new titles are created for the Playtstation3 this year, it will be as dead as the Sega DreamCast.

Did you know?

1. There are over 500 game developing companies in the world.

2. EA Gaming originally started with PC games.

3. UbiSoft makes more shooting games than all developers combined.
