A new beginning in Spanish Town?

Rasbert Turner, Star Writer

Several persons turned out at the De la Vega City Community Centre in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, on Thursday night to attend the Restoration Begins Here religious meeting for peace.

THE STAR visited the location, at around 8:30 p.m., to find scores of residents and supporters worshipping for peace. They were blessed in songs and testimony from the likes of Ryan Mark and Lt. Stitchie whom they received well. Many endorsed the idea as a well-thought out affair and gave praises to organisers, Donette Prendegast from the House of Restoration and promoter Lenny Hype for the input of the night's activities.

Dr. Letisha McPherson, who chaired the proceedings along with several other persons, endorsed the idea as a godsend. She told THE STAR that it is the vision that Spanish Town should be restored to its former glory and with the faith of persons like Prendegast, it is the start of a new beginning. In an interview with THE STAR, Donnette said it was simply the work of God that she was doing. " I became a child of God five months ago and I see where we need to do more for Spanish Town as it is in the middle of everything and this is where the vision leads me and Ifeel truly blessed to be apart of this whole process for peace."

It was the consensus of all who spoke with THE STAR that the greatest problem of the Old Capital is the borders which, invisible though they are, have stopped the progress to see Spanish Town getting to its full potential.
