One man is dead ,while another was admitted in hospital in serious condition, and a third escaped following a shoot-out with the police in St. Elizabeth early this morning.
The dead man has been identified as Noel Noble of a Goshen address in the parish. The identity of the injured man has been withheld pending investigations.
The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) officer in the parish Karole Panton reported that about 6 a.m., a joint police party from St. Elizabeth and Manchester, acting on intelligence went to Goshen district in the parish where they were allegedly greeted with gunfire by three men in a house.
The fire was returned and when the shooting stopped, a search was carried out and two of the men were found suffering from gunshot wounds.
They were taken to the Black River Hospital where one of them was pronounced dead on arrival.
A .38 Taurus revolver with two live rounds and two spent shells along with a quantity of ganja weighing 50 kilograms were also found in the house.
