Queen Ifrica - Colin Hamilton
While many might find it difficult to maintain a career and responsibilities at home, Ifrika manages her time as artiste and a mother easily.
According to Queen Ifrica who is the mother of two, a 14-year-old son, Imeru, and a six-year-old daughter, Amakai, "it's easy to balance both, because on holidays I get to keep them. It's always a family energy, aside from the music, we have a lot of activities.
As Rastafarians, we go down to the river and hold a vibe or we go to the Nyabingi, our own Rasta concerts," Ifrica told The STAR.
Queen Ifrica claims that although it might be easy she could not have done it alone. "I have a very good family support, so whenever I'm not around they monitor things and every time I get a chance I am there," she said.
Her choice of a job has so far not rubbed off on any of her children, but Ifrica says that she will support them in whatever they do.
"I don't see it (musical influence) as yet, but my son is very interested in art, he recently won in a Caribbean environmental competition. They love what I do, but they are more into school now, which is where I want them. They are not like me who was home schooled, plus technologies have advanced nowadays so we need them to be very advanced in everything."
