Love crisis

Dear Pastor,

I immigrated to England about two years ago. Before I left Jamaica, I had a boyfriend. My boyfriend and I are still together. I became a Christian, but the problem is that people keep telling me that Christians can't marry an unsaved person. Is that true? I am still in love with him. We have been together for four years and we want to get married. We didn't want to break up, so we continued the relationship.

Should we get married or should we break up?

J.O., England

Dear J.O.,

I can only tell you what the Bible says. The Bible says that a Christian should not marry a non-Christian, so I guess that is why people are discouraging you from marrying this man. On the other hand, if two people have been living together for years and one becomes a Christian, I do not believe that it is wise for any one to tell them that they should not get married.

May I suggest that you discuss this problem with the pastor of the church you attend and ask him to meet with your boyfriend.

Pastor
