A 12-year employee of the National Commercial Bank is now in police custody after being found with illegal ammunition while being questioned for another matter.
Tyrone Newby, 40, a loans officer is charged with two counts of illegal possession of ammunition.
Police reports are that Newby was taken into custody on Friday for questioning in a case of alleged fraud at his branch.
It is reported that while in custody of detectives from the Fraud Squad, a bag reportedly belonging to the accused was searched and one round of ammunition found in his possession.
Further investigations led to the preparation of a search warrant and the police subsequently raided his home in Edgewater, St.Catherine. The search yielded another 10 rounds of ammunition.
The accused allegedly told the police that he was keeping the bullets for a friend.
He is booked to appear before the Gun Court on November 9.
Meanwhile, Newby is still being investigated by the fraud squad.
Investigations are being carried out into the alleged unauthorised withdrawal of more than $500,000 from an account at the branch where the accused work.
