The Burger King/Inter-collegiate Basketball Champion-ship is in high gear with five institutions challenging for a new Burger King trophy and attractive incentives.
The league has been heavily affected by rain, but some adjustment has been made to play the postponed matches and get back on track.
At present G.C. Foster lead the tables as the only undefeated team in the competition. UWI are in second place having lost only one game. Mico are in third place.
The match-ups have been very exciting so far as several of the institutions have top players from the National Basketball League (NBL) in their line-ups.
Urban Knights' top forward Andy Smith plays for Mico. UWI have Runnin Rebel's Jumaine Remikie and Michael Morrison in their line-up, Slayers' top power forward Dwayne Golbourne plays for Moneague and Portmore is represented by the NBL's top three-point scorer Adrian Coote
With the injection of funds from new sponsors Burger King and top NBL players leading the charge, the stage is now set for an exciting competition as teams and players hunt the attractive prizes and incentives in store.
Games are played every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday in front of capacity crowd supporting their institutions.
