Chanderpaul, Gayle dip in ODI rankings

Shivnarine Chanderpaul ... slipped two places in the rankings to No. 12 - file

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, CMC

West Indies batsmen Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Chris Gayle have slipped in the latest ICC One-Day International batting rankings.

The left-handed Chanderpaul have slipped two places in the rankings to No. 12, while Gayle has slipped one place to No. 9.

Captain Ramnaresh Sarwan has remained at No. 7, but no other West Indies batsman appears in the top 20.

West Indies, however, have been inactive on the ODI scene since tackling England there over the summer.

The three top places in the standings have remained unchanged. Australian captain Ricky Ponting remains in the No. 1 position, while counterparts Andrew Symonds and Matthew Hayden remain second and third respectively.

South African captain Graeme Smith has moved up two places to fourth on the back of consistent scoring in the recent series against Pakistan.

He replaces England's Kevin Pietersen who has dropped one place to fifth, while Australian Mike Hussey has also dropped one place to sixth.

Pakistan's Mohammed Yousuf was the biggest mover in the rankings, jumping 10 places to 10th following solid scores against South Africa.
