Popular dancehall deejay Elephant Man, real name Oneil Bryan, is today counting his blessings as he was spared major injuries in a motor vehicle accident early Friday morning.
Elephant Man's manager, Q45, says "The accident took place right in front of the Priory School, I think he hit down the wall to the school. It happened at about 3:30 this morning (Friday) when he (Elephant Man) was coming from the club, Asylum."
And while Q45 is still not sure as to what caused the accident, he surmised that, "It was probably because of the heavy rain an di water. But him (Elephant Man) get couple bruise pon him hand, but him lucky."
Elephant Man, in giving his own account of what happened, said, "It come in like mi a drive come from Asylum, me an Harry Toddler dem an di road full a water an is like di water swing di car an mi press di break an every ting lock up, di anti-lock dem an di van jus a run, run pon di slidey road an it lick up inna di wall an tun ova."
Ele said he was the only person in his X5 van, while friend and fellow artiste, Harry Toddler was driving behind him.
But Ele says his respect goes out to the police as he says, "Some police from Mobile Reserve come on an trus mi, mi haffi big dem up, cause dem come out inna di rain an a bare love dem show mi. Dem all call di wrecker fi come pick up di vehicle fi mi, cause di van write off."
When contacted, however, the Half-Way Tree police's Traffic Department said they had no knowledge of the accident, "and even if police were on the scene, they probably don't investigate traffic and so would have to come in to the Traffic Division and report it, but we have no reports of that accident," a female officer told THE STAR.
