The annual Bell-Ziadie Memorial football match, which honours past stalwarts Winthorpe 'Jackie' Bell and Dennis Ziadie, will take place as usual on Heroes Day, this coming Monday, at Winchester Park, St. George's College, at 3:30 p.m.
Monday's memorial will be played between the Masters and Celebrities team and a St. George's Invitational, and brings together a host of well-known sporting and business personalities.

This is the 21st staging of the game - organised by Clive 'Busy' Campbell - that recognises the contribution of Bell and Ziadie, who played on St. George's College All Schools, St. George's division one and Jamaica's football teams. Bell also coached the national
senior team and Super League team Santos during its heydays when the Corporate Area club won its five National League titles. Ziadie, one of the first players contracted to the North American Soccer League, was also a national youth and St. George's College coach.
Accident

Courtney Walsh ... boundless energy, unerring accuracy.
Both men died in a motor vehicle accident in Mexico in 1986, while attending the World Cup Finals in the Central American country and each time the memorial match is played, several football personalities are honoured. This year's honorees are David Largie, a former Santos and Jamaica player, Ruddy Pearce, also a past national, and Cavalier Soccer Club player, Charles 'Charlie' Barrett, former FIFA referee and present chairman of the Referees Commission and Carvel Stewart, the Harbour View Football Club chairman.
Some past honorees include Ambassador Anthony Hill, Aubrey Love, Ken Chaplin, Noel Tappin, Syd Bartlett, Henry 'Digga' Largie, Karl Largie, Col. Ken Barnes, John 'Bulla John' Richards and Frank Brown.
Admission is free, but organisers are seeking contributions to assist basic schools.
