No distance too great

Dear Pastor,

I am 19 years old and I have recently moved to the United States to be with my family and to attend school. My problem is that my boyfriend lives in Jamaica and every day somebody has something to say about long distance relationships. I am really in love with my boyfriend and I am looking forward to spending the rest of my life with him. I know he really loves me and I trust him, but I am worried about the fact that we are all humans and loneliness can cause him to do something stupid to ruin our relationship. I get a lot of attentions from guys, but I am in total control of myself.

Tell me, pastor, what do you think of our relationship? And give me some advice, please. Thank you.

C.M., Florida, U.S.A.

Dear C.M.,

This guy hasn't given you any reason for you to discontinue the relationship. Some long distance relationships have survived, others have not. If both of you trust each other and can wait until both of you are ready to get married, keep the relationship going. Do not allow anyone to discourage you.

Pastor
