A passenger that was forced off a bus because he did not pay any fare, waited, chased and shot the conductor of the bus on Monday night.
Darrian Brooks also known as 'Country' of Drews Avenue, Kingston 10, was admitted in hospital following the shooting incident.
Reports from the St. Andrew South police are that Brooks was a conductor on a bus which plies the Patrick City to Half-Way Tree route. At about 9:30 p.m. , the bus was travelling along Washington Boulevard in the vicinity of Patrick Drive when he had a dispute with a passenger who refused to pay his fare.
During the dispute the conductor allegedly pushed the passenger off the bus and then the vehicle drove off. The passenger reportedly went away and returned to the bus stop with two other men and waited for the bus.
When the bus was coming from Patrick City and approached the bus stop, the conductor realised that it was the same passenger standing there and instructed the driver not to stop. When the bus did not stop, the passenger allegedly ran down the bus and fired shots at it, hitting the conductor in the shoulder. He was taken to the hospital where he was admitted.
The police say no one has been arrested in connection with the incident and they are continuing to investigate.
