Dear Pastor,
I'm a 19-year-old whose life is like a fairy tale. While growing up people always said that "you can love a lot of times, but you cannot love a lot one time". Well, let me just go on to say that my life is like this because I'm now living in Canada, but my boyfriend of two years lives in Jamaica. But before I got here we were in a lot of problems and we tried to fix it a week before I got here.
Trust me, pastor, this guy is really a great guy who gives good advice on life and he does not think negatively. He is just that one person who you can count on to listen to your problems. He's like a good advisor for me and that's why I fell in love with him.
I came to Canada and after four months I met this really great guy who reminds me so much of my boyfriend from Jamaica that I wondered if faith placed us together.
Recently, I find myself falling for this new guy. He said he wants me for himself, but I made a promise to my boyfriend in Jamaica that I'm going to help him to come to Canada and I don't want to break that promise.
Pastor, what should I do? Should I continue to go with this guy or should I wait to see if things will really work out for my boyfriend and me?
K. B., Ontario, Canada
Dear K. B.,
Determine in your mind which of these guys you love more. I also want you to be absolutely sure that if you love the guy in Jamaica, you will marry him because of love and not because you want to get him to come to Canada.
Pastor
