More gold for Jamaica

MEXICO CTY, CMC

Jamaican 10-year-old Sean Wilson collected a third gold medal as the Pan American Junior Badminton championship which ended Sunday afternoon in Mexico City.

Already with the Boys' Under-11 singles and doubles titles in the morning session, Wilson teamed up with Peru's Daniela Brandes to cop the Under-11 mixed doubles crown on Sunday afternoon.

Up against Americans Micaela Lum and Timothy Lam in the final, Wilson and Brandes spent only 20 minutes on court in winning in straight games, 21-8, 22-20.

Earlier in the day, Wilson had defeated Lam for the Boys' Under-11 singles title 21-16, 21-17.

Sean also teamed up with his younger brother Shane Wilson to capture the Boys' Under-11 doubles crown, defeating Guatemala's Elmer Tello and Jorge Saucedo 21-9, 21-7.

Jamaicans picked up four gold medals overall on Sunday, as Gareth Henry upset the top seeded Bruno Monteverde Guillen, of Peru, 21-18, 21-16 for the Boys Under-17 singles title.
