I'm not pregnant - Ce´Cile - Artiste denies rumours

Teino Evans, Staff Reporter

With rumours flying around that she was pregnant and that the child she was carrying is the product of a relationship with deejay Bounty Killer, Ce'cile says they are all untrue.

"I started the pregnancy rumour. [I] was premiering my new video on T.V. and so I was saying there were so many rumours that persons have started about me. So I said. 'let me start one now,' and I said I was pregnant for him (Bounty Killer)," she told The STAR yesterday.

She said what was intended as a little white lie spiralled into something bigger than she expected. She says, however, that the rumours have all worked in her favour.

"It's the furthest thing from the truth. Since then, Europe a call mi a ask mi if mi pregnant, but the Bounty part was started all by the people. Right yah now, mi a look fi a nex' rumour fi start."

"I wonder which man me and Lady Saw can guh fight ova? Mi a look fi find one (rumour) fi beat Angel and Barbee."

Getting Personal

With all that has been going on with her busy career, Ce'Cile has still given herself a timetable in which to settle down and start a family.

"I thinking about having kids four years time, if I find a good man. If I find the treasure, then him can start dig. Or if the person I'm with now, it works out, then. but these things take time. Mi nah jump up an breed fi no man an mi nuh know if it a guh work," she commented.

She declined to say who her main man is but admitted that they had been together for just over two years.

"I have man problems too; we hot girls are not exempt from man problem. So when I say the name (of her partner), all a dem woman outa road a guh waan run him down. Neva flaunt yuh relationship either, because when it nuh work out, as a public figure, it's normally very embarrassing. And sometimes, to make it not look so bad, you have to continue to make things public and that might not work in your favour," she said.

No more 'bad gyal' image

With a recent signing to Avex, a major Japanese label, Ce'Cile has been busy promoting the Japan version of her debut album. With prospects high, she says her 'bad gyal' image has outlived its time.

"I'm planning to change my image because people keep saying, 'but Ce'Cile yuh a nuh bad gyal, which part a yuh?' and I have to be explaining.

"But I think as soon as the two albums (Japan and North American versions) are out of the way, I plan on changing my persona. I'm thinking of 'Peach', everybody calls me Peach, because I play a lot of 'Mario Go-Cart' (Nintendo game) and 'Peach' a my gyal. dem know anybody weh mess wid ar a trouble. Plus, Peach is also a fruit, it can be eaten," Ce'Cile said.

Having been in the music business for a while now and having been signed to a major international label before, one might think it strange that Ce'Cile is only now just dropping her debut album.

"I've been signed before, I bought myself back, but record companies always wanted to sign me, but you know me, I have to be in control of my music."

Ce'Cile has also been occupying her free time by hosting a Tempo show called 'On De Stage.'
