Dr. Victor Brystal walked away a free man from the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court last week after a rape charge brought against him was dismissed.
The Resident Magistrate agreed with the defence that Brystal should be freed as the allegations had major discrepancies.
The doctor, who was represented by attorney-at-law, Sharon Gordon -Townsend, was accused in June last year of raping a 23-year-old woman who had gone to his practice in Linstead. It is said that the woman was being checked medically and sometime after she awoke and claimed to have been sexually molested.
Following a report to the Linstead police, the doctor was held and charged with rape.
He had maintained his innocence throughout the many appearances made in court.
