Don Mafia - File
After being forced out of his 'Mafia House' company he claimed to have formed, Don Mafia says he has now decided to finally pick up the pieces and move on. Now, he has formed and registered a new company called 'Mafia World'.
"Is a idea wey mi have inna mi head from last year, suh tru dem (Beenie and D'Angel) tek wey di 'House' from mi, mi sey well, di 'House' haffi still inna di 'World'. Suh mi guh register mi company, 'Mafia World', an mi a do some producing now an mi have a one-drop rhythm yah now wey mi call 'Have Mercy' an mi a put Capleton and Sanchez dem pon it," he said.
Adding, "mi a guh gwaan drop two or three singles before mi drop mi album pon di label. Mi have a single call City Life and one name Have Mercy wey me an one singer name Antonio West from Mandeville do it. So a dem two mi a plan fi launch."
But Don Mafia says he plans to make 'Mafia World' more than just a mere company, as he wants "to launch out di 'Mafia World' not only as a company, but also as a image, but wi nah fight 'gainst nobody, a jus love, wi jus form wi own ting an doing wi own ting."
Don Mafia says he was "cut up" when he was forcefully evicted from 'Mafia House', because, "a did my idea, an mi did start it as a company wid me, Beenie and Blue (Beenie's brother). Cause when Bogle died an mi write di song One Bag A Lies, mi change mi name to Don Mafia."
"So di plan was to split the company three ways, because these were my friends. But after dat, he (Beenie) went behind mi back and registered the company for he and his wife and I felt cut up because of that. So I just had to come up with something different and I did the song, Welcome To The Mafia World," he said.
And now as Don Mafia looks on at his one-time friend Beenie Man and his dilemma, he says, "unfair game play twice, him (Beenie) bad mi up an tek wey di company from mi an now fi him wife a bad him up an a tek wey di company from him. They say what goes around comes around. If him (Beenie) did jus work wid mi wi would a be one happy family now, God nuh sleep inna pyjama. But yuh haffi be strong inna music, if yuh nuh strong mi would a run lef it already."
So for now, Don Mafia is seeking to complete his album entitled, 'Da' Real Mafia Story' "an mi have 21 tracks pon it right now, conscious songs and some comical stuff. Mi try fi keep it clean as possible, cause a lot of big people love mi work suh mi waan fi gi dem a album wey dem can put inna dem car an listen. Mi nuh talk bout nuh one bag a shot a buss inna head an dem ting deh."
Adding, "Mi jus a try do something fi myself now, everybody haffi think out dem own future. A country mi lef from come a town fi turn musician an mi nah mek no man turn mi back from dat."
