"I want to serve the Lord at a tender age" was the touching testimony uttered by 15-year-old Sashall Palmer, a resident of Portmore, during a baptism at the Power of Faith Ministries in Portmore, St. Catherine on July 1.
Palmer, was one of 56 persons that gave themselves to the Lord, that night. It was quite pleasing to see 20 men surrendering their lives to Christ that night.
Bishop Dr. Delford Davis, head pastor of the Power of Faith Ministries presided over the ceremony. The clergyman said that young Sashall should be commended by the congregation for her bold testimony. He said that in this day and age many young people normally wanted to see the world, and did not want to be associated with Christ. But, this youngster did the opposite.
Later in the programme, Bishop Davis noted that water baptism is a public demonstration that they have given themselves to the Lord.
He added that baptism is just the start of their long walk with the Lord, as it is the life that they live after baptism is more important.
The man of God expressed emphatically: "People must see Christ in you, don't be afraid to declare that you are on the Lord's side."
The candidates were baptised by veteran Minister Bobby Chambers.
