Due to the upcoming elections next month, Jah Cure fans will have to wait an additional two months before they can see him perform live, as the scheduled concert for August 24-26 has been moved to October 12-14.
According to Delmar Drummonds of Danger Zone, producers of Curefest, "We have decided to cancel the three Jah Cure performances in the Caribbean scheduled for September due to elections to facilitate Cure's fans and supporters to vote. We also feel that Jamaicans have a right to be the first Caribbean fans to have a chance to see Jah Cure live, so Curefest, scheduled for October 12-14 in Jamaica, will be Jah Cure's first performance in the Caribbean."
As a result, the original dates of other Curefest shows in the Caribbean have been cancelled, so as to facilitate the Jamaicans being the first to witness Jah Cure's first live performance after his release from prison.
"At the time the Caribbean dates were scheduled, Curefest would have been in August and Jamaica would be the first Caribbean island to see Jah Cure perform. The Caribbean promoters understand the decision to cancel the dates to allow Jamaicans the first chance to see Jah Cure in the Caribbean," said Alison Young, entertainment publicist for Danger Zone.
She also added that no plans have yet been put in place for the rescheduling of any of the cancelled shows in the Caribbean.
