'Dirks' killed along Barnett Bush main road

Tashieka Mair, Star Writer

The St. James police are investigating the shooting to death of a man in the Spring Field area of the parish last Wednesday.

Dead is 21-year-old Keston James, also known as 'Dirks', of Barnett Bush.

Reports are that at about 11:40 p.m. on Wednesday, James and some friends were walking along the Barnett Bush main road when a white Toyota corolla motor car drove past them and stopped a short distance away. One of the occupants alighted from the vehicle and approached James and spoke to him before pulling a firearm, which he used to shoot James all over the body.

The man then went back into the vehicle and left the area.

James was rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No motive has been established for the murder, however the Springmount Police are carrying out investigations.

In the meantime, the police were called to the Bottom Pen, Glendevon community, where an unknown man was shot and killed at about 11:15 the same night.

Police reports are that residents of the area heard explosions and went to investigate.

They discovered the body of a man, of dark complexion, slim build and about 6 feet tall, in a gully suffering from a gunshot wound.
