The police in Spanish Town said that a man who allegedly robbed a motorist at gunpoint and who is now in hospital after being injured during the process, was awaiting a call to join the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF).
He has been identified as Shawn 'Watson' Miller, 20, of a St. Catherine address.
Miller, who was formally charged on Thursday with robbery with aggravation and illegal possession of firearm, was successful in a recent JCF entrance examination.
THE STAR was at the Spanish Town Police Station when a female, who claimed to be a
relative of the accused said: "A wait 'im a wait fi go inna di police force, as 'im pass di test a'ready, an' look yah now, a mussi kidnap dem kidnap 'im," she remarked.
Successful
An officer later confirmed that Miller had indeed completed the test successfully.
On June 29, bystanders had to run for cover when Miller reportedly held a motorist at gunpoint at a gas station near the Spanish Town Hospital and robbed him of his Toyota motor car.
The owner sounded an alarm and police personnel, who were refuelling, responded. It started a chase which ended after the stolen car crashed into a light post.
