A different style of performance

Prodigal at Exodus at the Fellowship Tabernacle car park - Contributed

André Jebbinson, Staff Reporter

Jamaica is supposed to be a religious country but the buzz coming for secular artistes by far outweigh that coming for gospel artistes.

Gospel shows only get a small fraction of the cash which is pumped into secular shows. That is only a glimpse of the difference between secular and gospel artistes.

Prodigal, THE STAR's Artiste of the Month spoke about 5 differences between secular and gospel artistes.

1. In secular, it is all about the hype on stage. In Christendom, it is about humility.

2. In the secular world, it is about who can have the most girls. In Christendom, it is about having one wife and a family.

3. Secular world is all about who can mash up the show or get the most forward. We deal with who can minister and win souls.

4. For us, it is about reading the Bible, praying and meditating, while secular artistes are about smoking weed to build a hype.

5. We are all about church, they are about clubs.
