Two juveniles were remanded by the court albeit for different offences recently.
In one case, a schoolboy, who admitted to using a machete to almost sever another child's hand during a dispute was remanded by RM Lorna Errar Gayle to appear in the Juvenile Court.
In the other incident, a 15-year-old girl in an advanced stage of pregnancy was remanded to a place of safety. The girl's mother Diana Williams, told the court that she was aware that the child was seeing a 25-year-old man.
Detective Corporal Kirk Roache told the court that his investigation revealed that the mother received constant remuneration for services rendered to the juvenile. The woman agreed.
The officer told the court the mother only warned the daughter to use birth control. Having heard the allegation, they remanded both the mother and the eight-month pregnant daughter.
Roache informed the court that a 14-year-old boy is the brother of the pregnant teen is wanted by the police for several months now. The RM chided the mother for not being responsible in assisting the police to get her son.
