St. Croix's NBA star Tim Duncan was in good form as he led the San Antonio Spurs to their third final in five years with a vicious 109-84 blow out of the Utah Jazz, Wednesday.
Playing before his home crowd at the AT&T Centre, Duncan scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds as the Spurs clinched the best-of-seven Western Conference finals 4-1.
Tony Parker added 21 points and Argentine Manu Ginobili, 12 points, but it was a strong first- quarter burst that laid the foundation for the Spurs' conquest.
Both Duncan and Parker scored freely then as San Antonio ended the first quarter 34-15 before rushing to a 23-point lead early in the second quarter.
The hosts staged posted a 20-point 59-39 lead before stomping to an 87-56, 31-point advantage that all but crushed UtahÕs hopes of a revival.
For Utah, Andrei Kirilenko scored 13 points while Deron Williams and Matt Harpring were held to 11 points each.
San Antonio, who won titles 1999, 2003 and 2005, will await the winner of the Eastern Conference finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Detroit Pistons, currently locked at 2-2.
