'Tacko Puss' for court today

Gareth Davis, STAR Writer

Twenty-eight-year-old Ashley Brown, alias - 'Tacko puss', who is charged with the stabbing death of a 15-year-old student of Titchfield high in Portland, is scheduled to reappear in the Buff bay Resident Magistrate's Court, today.

Brown who last appeared in court on May 1 was denied bail. He was arrested on April 23, in the Tom's Hope community - two days after he allegedly chased and stabbed to death Fitzroy Lawrence, who was attending a party in the area with his brother.

Reports are that Fitzroy, a student and his sibling were involved in an argument with a jerk chicken vendor over payment for a chicken meal. It is further reported that, Brown, who overheard the commotion, intervened and threatened the boys, who quickly fled the scene in fear.

Brown is alleged to have followed the boys on a bicycle, and Fitzroy was caught and stabbed twice in the chest area with a knife. His body was discovered the following day in a ravine in the vicinity of West Retreat, with his mobile phone beside him.

The murder of the student is the second tragedy to have occurred at the High school in a one moth period, following the drowning of Lamar Stephenson another 15-year- old student on April 13. Fitzroy's body was laid to rest on May 12.
