A man who attempted to rape a 19-year-old girl lost a part of his tongue recently when his would-be victim took one huge bite in an attempt to free herself from his grasp.
Reports from the Spanish Town police indicate that the incident occurred along a section of Brunswick Avenue on Sunday at about 10:30 p.m. The young lady was on her way to visit her relative in another section of the town when she was pounced upon by the pervert who held a knife at her throat.
She was pulled into a secluded area and while the attacker was attempting to rape her he decided to give her a 'tongue bath'.
However, when he pushed his tongue into her mouth she bit on to it with all her might, taking off a section and spitting it on the ground. In his rage, the attacker used his knife to stab her several times, resulting in her being hospitalised.
The attacker escaped but a piece of his tongue was taken to the Spanish Town Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse.
THE STAR also learnt from senior officers that the tongue was sent to the forensic laboratory for testing. In the meanwhile, anyone with information on the almost 'tongueless' attacker is asked to call the Spanish Town police at 984-2874 or 119.
