Man remanded for pulling gun on daughter

WESTERN BUREAU

A man, who has been accused of pulling a gun at his daughter and her mother after assaulting them, was remanded in custody in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Charged with assault occasioning bodily harm, and assault at common law is Neville Jones of Albion Lane in Montego Bay, St. James.

He is also facing an additional charge of illegal possession of firearm before the Western Regional Gun Court.

Jones is scheduled to return to the R.M. court on May 3.

His daughter's mother, Latoya Rose-Green, is also charged with assault, after it was alleged that she used a stone to injure Jones over the left eye.

However, the case against her was dismissed after RM Winsome Henry heard the allegations, which stated that she had intervened in a dispute between the accused and their daughter.

Allegations are that on April 24, Rose-Green intervened in the dispute. During the altercation, she reportedly used a stone to hit Mr. Jones over the left eye. In return, he allegedly hit her before pulling a gun.

He is also alleged to have proceeded to beat his daughter and also pulled the gun at her before she ran. The police were subsequently contacted.
