Michael Sherman, a 36-year-old higgler of Shenton district, Bog Walk, St. Catherine, was shot and killed by unknown assailants between Saturday night and Sunday morning.
According to the Bog Walk police, about 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, residents of the area where Sherman lives heard explosions, and about 6:30 a.m. Sunday morning, he was found on his doorstep in a pool of blood. The residents called the police and when they arrived they found that the cotton candy seller had wounds all over his body. Several 9mm pistol warheads were also found on the scene.
He is the third person to have been killed within a 24-hour period in the St. Catherine North Division. On Saturday, about five residents along Old Harbour Road heard explosions and later found the body of an unidentified man in the road. While on Friday about 11:30 a.m., residents of Mount Rosser found the body of Glenford Pottinger, 58-year-old contractor, with multiple chops in his house. The police said that they are following certain leads in all three homicides which has taken the number in the division since the start of the year to 53.
