Moon Walking is not dead. Not if the current crop of Dancin' Dynamites have anything to do with it. - Colin Hamilton photos

A week before the semi-finals it was the guests who brought it on Saturday, at Television Jamaica's studios at the Dancin' Dynamites competition. These guests included Minister Philip Paulwell, Macka Diamond, Ity, Fancy Cat, Elva and Renae Excell.
Although it was supposed to be one of the hottest nights of the competition, dancehall night, the competitors were not as exciting as they could have been. The snake charmers, Venum Squad, missed the session.
But despite Jenny Jenny's wigs and sexy outfit, the dancehall hype was low. Still, first up, and possibly the most entertaining group for the night was Kimbe. They also got the highest mark, 29. Their set, Orville Hall said, had "real dancehall vibes."
Attitude Brothers and Kayatic Vybz, performed a little below what the judges had expected. Though the men from Jungle had their usual comedy, their choreography was weak while Kayatic Vybz, for the first time since the competition, was reprimanded for their lack of relationship on stage.
The judges usually compliment the male and female vibe but this was missing on Saturday. Guest judge Patsy Ricketts also said she wanted to see more moves for the woman, a comment she made for almost all the mixed groups. This included Blazin Vibes, first in the votes for the fourth week, and Rock Stars where Kedine Campbell replaced Sheldon Anglin this week. Delvin Henry said the switch was made because the mix could not be performed by two men. Their mix included Hula Hoop and Tic Tock by Elephant Man.
But it was after the dancers, that the show started. The comedian dance-off, was truly comedic with Elva, and Renae Excell from Ellis International, up first. The ladies, however failed to move the audience despite their 'hot wuk', 'room ram', twirling, flying and twisting to contemporary music. The winners of that dance off were Ity and Fancy Cat. Their set began with My Girl and the duo started off suave as they snapped their fingers and rocked. The performance then developed as the music changed. The comedians dropped their jackets, got jiggy, did the butterfly, and 'willy bounce' while Fancy Cat nearly 'bruk out' after 'room ramming'. To top the night Macka Diamond performed Hula Hoop, kicking off her shoes to get her groove on, while Minister Paulwell did not see it fit to just be an audience member but joined the group onstage for some of the 'Hula Hoop' action.
