Alleged 'One Order gang' member freed of gun charge

Jeffrey Campbell otherwise called "Tatas" who is reported to be second in command of the One Order gang was yesterday freed in the Gun Court of charges of shooting with intent and illegal possession of firearm.

Campbell is now serving a 15-year prison sentence for illegal possession of firearm and shooting with intent. He was convicted last week of the charges.

He was freed of another set of charges yesterday after Mr. Justice Donald McIntosh upheld a no case submission made by defence lawyer Peter Champagnie. Mr. Champagnie argued that the evidence given by the complainant was not credible.

The Crown led evidence that on February 15, 2005, Campbell and two other men fired shots at a policeman on Duncans Pen Road, Spanish Town, St. Catherine.
