Twelve students injured in bus crash

By Noel Thompson, Freelance Writer

WESTERN BUREAU

Twelve students from the Cambridge High School in St. James were yesterday hospitalised following an accident along the Mount Carey main road in the parish.

The Anchovy Police who are investigating the accident, confirmed that eight of the students sustained serious injuries but they were said to be in stable condition.

The driver of the mini bus, Kevin Shaw, 23, of Maroon Town, St. James, is in critical condition. The accident occurred at about 2:15 p.m. when a tyre on the vehicle blew out, causing it to overturn.

Residents say they had to lift the minibus off the driver and a male student who were pinned beneath it.
