Horatio Heslop's JAW dropped in the St. Catherine Night Court on Feb 28 when he was found guilty of robbery with violence.
Detective Corporal Craig Walker outlined that on January 28 this year, about 11 a.m., he was driving a police service vehicle along Old Harbour Road when he spotted the complainant holding onto his head and crying.
He said he stopped and spoke with the complainant who told him that Heslop had just robbed him of several cartons of cigarettes and slammed his head several times on the wall.
The detective stated that he drove a short distance and saw Heslop, 21, coming out of bushes with a large box containing several cases of cigarettes. Heslop was subsequently taken into custody. The complainant saw and said that he was the same Heslop who had just robbed him and banged his head on the wall.
After Heslop was found guilty he explained to the judge that he had made a mistake and was sorry and would not do it again. He was however remanded for sentencing on April 27.
