'Imus' not do that

The Editor, Sir:

Reading an Associated Press (AP) item in the Gleaner dated April 14, 2007 recently titled "Coach, team accept Imus apology", this statement shows that the more things change the more they remain the same.

However it's a real shame for a radio personality like Don Imus after nearly 30 years on air to end his career in this way after making racial slurs against Rutgers University's women's basketball team.

An apology or firing of an individual will not change what's inside a person's mind. The real change should be in your day to day acceptance of other races.

I am, etc.,
