Wife of former Pakistani Cricket Coach, Gill Woolmer, has expressed satisfaction at how the Jamaican police are handling the investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of her husband, Bob Woolmer.

Speaking recently on a radio programme, Mrs. Woolmer noted that she has been in frequent dialogue with Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mark Shields, regarding the progress of the investigation.

"I have been speaking with Mark Shields on a regular basis and he has been very informative and keeps us up-to-date on any development. They seem like very competent people," she reiterated.

Commenting on the involvement of Scotland Yard detectives in the investigation, Mrs. Woolmer said the action is appreciated. "It's nice to know that there are more heads involved than one," she said.

Mrs. Woolmer said that because of the rumours and speculations in the international media about her husband's death, dealing with the tragedy was particularly stressful for her family, as a lot of "it [the rumour] is untrue."

Mr. Woolmer was found unconscious in his room at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel on Sunday, March 18, and was later pronounced dead at the University Hospital of the West Indies. He was 58 years old.

His body remains in Jamaica pending the completion of a coroner's inquest.
