A man who failed to hand over money he earned from selling oranges for his employer was granted bail in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
Winston Taylor of Dumfries, St. James, was granted $20,000 bail in his own surety. He was also warned to repay the complainant the money he owes.
The court heard that on March 2, the complainant gave Taylor $20,000 worth of oranges to sell in St Ann.
However, up to nine days after, the complainant had heard nothing from the accused. It is said that when he called Taylor's phone, the complainant was allegedly told the money earned from sales was used.
On April 2, a warrant was executed on Taylor, at which time he told the police that he borrowed the money.
He is scheduled to return to court on April 27 when it is expected that he will repay the complainant.
