Ida (Sonia Thompson) looks through the window during a scene from the short story 'The Sun Also Rises'. - Anthony Minott
Starting Monday, April 2, THE STAR will be running its new and exciting short story called The Sun Also Rises.
The story is about Rose Dixon, a mother and a teacher struggling to raise a wayward son, while being forced to put up with a cheating and abusive husband who no longer loves her and shows it in every way. She also has to put up with a nagging though well meaning mother.
The story has many twists and turns and although Rose is well intentioned, Rose cannot prevent a series of events from happening.
Today, we talk to cast member Sonia Thomas, who took on the role of Ida, Rose's mother. You can also be a part of the experience by sending us your feedback to star@gleanerjm.com or sending a short text message about the story to 467-2165. NO calls will be accepted on this number.
