A man charged with trespassing on the works of the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) will be tried in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on April 2.
When Oniel Sterling of Somerton, St. James, appeared before the court on Wednesday, he pleaded guilty to the charge, and insisted that he was getting electricity from his uncle's premises.
Allegations are that the police went to Sterling's house with a search warrant on March 14. It is said that they observed that a DVD player and a television set were connected to a JPS wire outside.
"A lickle light mi tek from the power line sah," he allegedly told the police at the time.
However, in court he denied the allegations. His station bail was extended.
