Splitting love in half

Dear Pastor,

I am 17 years old. Every year my mother and I visit Jamaica. Last December at Grand Market I met a guy. I love him very much and I know he feels the same way about me. Now that I am home in America I miss him a lot. We still talk every day about three to four times and I really like the fact that he is showing me some attention.

But, there is another guy here who I have been talking to a lot. We have known each other since primary school. He told me that he wants us to start a relationship. The thing is that I really like this guy as well, but I do not know what to do.

Pastor, could you please advise me on what to do?

S.T., U.S.A.

Dear S.T.,

Keep these two guys as social friends and nothing more until you grow older and have more experience. You don't have to have an intimate boyfriend in your life but you should have many social friends. It is not good for a girl to say yes to any young man while she is very young. Her parents and guardians should give guidance on relationships and love, etc.

Pastor
