A teenager who withdrew money from her neighbour's bank account without authorisation, pleaded guilty to the charge of simple larceny in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court last Wednesday.
RM Winsome Henry also extended the station bail of the accused woman, 18-year-old Felicia Nicholson of Spring Mount in St. James.
Nicholson, who recently gave birth, is scheduled to return to court on April 4 for sentencing.
A social enquiry report was also requested.
RM Henry told the accused woman that she should make efforts to repay the $9,900 withdrawn from the complainant's bank account.
The complainant is alleging that on March 18, he and the accused went to an ATM machine, where he withdrew money using his bankcard. It is alleged that Nicholson was able to see when he was entering his PIN (Personal Identification Number) .
It is said that in November the complainant went to a bank in Montego Bay, to update his bank book. He was informed that $2,500 was withdrawn from his account on October 17.
Further allegations are that he visited the bank again on November 13, and was again told of three unauthorised withdrawals. It is said that the consecutive transactions, amounting to $7,400, were allegedly carried out on days in that same month.
The bank audited security cameras and corresponding photos were shown to the complainant, who was able to identify the accused teen.
