Last Chance meet set for G.C. Foster College

Athletes hoping to hit qualification marks for the March 28-31 GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Athletics Championships will get their final chance tomorrow at the Lucozade/G. C. Foster College Classic.

More than 2,500 athletes from 100 schools will be on show. Action is set to start at 9:00 a.m. with the 400m hurdles and close with the 4x400m later in the afternoon.

All the top schools, the girls from Holmwood, Vere, Man-chester, St. Jago, Edwin Allen, along with boys from Kingston College (KC), Wolmer's, Jamaica College (JC), Calabar and St. Jago boys are expected to take part at the meet which has received an $800,000 sponsorship from Lucozade.

The meet dubbed 'Last Chance' (for Champs) will see action in all the field events, the high, triple and long jumps, discus, shot put, javelin and all hurdles as well as the 200m, 400m, 1,500m, 3,000m, 5,000m and 4x400m relay.

The organisers are also expecting entries from more than 20 institutions and clubs, from as far as the Caymans Islands. Olympian Usain Bolt of Racers Track Club will be the top senior athlete at the meet.
