Calabar continued on their domineering way with a convincing win over the Queen's School. The defending champions cruised their way to the Quarter Finals in TVJ's Schools' Challenge Quiz with a 57-25 win.

"I'm very happy with today's performance, thank God for the victory, we'll definitely continue preparing." Said Demar Barnett, captain of the Calabar team.

After the first segment of play, it was obvious that the boys from Red Hills Road, St. Andrew, were on a mission. They managed to pull 15 points at the end of the first segment. At one instance, they correctly answered twelve consecutive questions.

The Queen's School on the other hand, pulled in nine points.

Calabar continued displaying their sharpness throughout the second segment of the match. By the end of the segment, they obtained 24 points, to create a total of 39 points heading into the final section of play.

At the end of segment two, The Queen's School managed to pull in 12 points, which led to a total of 21 points going into the final buzzer section.

The coach of the Queen's School, Thaddeus Gavis, admitted there was a problem. "The students prepared themselves, so definitely there was a problem. The girls were familiar with many of the questions, especially in the buzzer section, but they were just slow. In the end it was a good match, the boys from Calabar played well.

The buzzer section was more of a one-sided event, as the Calabar team buzzed their way to an easy victory. They received little competition during this section, as the Queens School only managed to buzz in on two questions, which they answered correctly.

At the end of the final section, Calabar had rushed their way to 57 points as compared to the Queen's 25 points.

Calabar will now look to defend their title against a promising Clarendon College team. "We won't underestimate our op-ponents, we never do. Clarendon College is a good team, so we'll continue preparing. We are confident though, because without confidence you've lost the race before it even started," stated captain Barnett.

Members of the Calabar team are: Aldion Lee, Troy Stone, Roxandrew Wright, Demar Barnett. (captain)

Members of the Queen's School team are: Tamika Wright (captain), Saabeerah Abdullah, Felecia Francis, Divida Dixon.
