Gerald Green of the Boston Celtics flew over a table and sank a windmill jam to win the NBA's Slam Dunk title on Saturday.
Green's competition-closing dunk earned him a perfect score from a panel of judges including past champions Michael Jordan, Dominique Wilkins and Vince Carter.
"It's tough to be creative since just about every kind of dunk has been done," Green said after winning the 22nd Slam Dunk title. "I tried to pull something out nobody had seen before."
The 6-foot-8 forward, playing in his second NBA season, soared over a table placed in the middle of the lane before slamming the ball home in front of 18,000 fans at the Thomas and Mack Centre.
In the other marquee event of the night, Miami Heat forward Jason Kapono upset Gilbert Arenas of the Washington Wizards and defending champion Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks to win the three-point shooting title.
Miami's Dwyane Wade successfully defended his Skills Challenge title, defeating Kobe Bryant (Lakers), LeBron James (Cavaliers) and Chris Paul (Hornets).
This is the first time the annual event is being held in a city without an NBA team.
