Three killed in 'St Bess' and MoBay

Three persons were shot, two fatally, in St.Elizabeth and St.James on Saturday.

The Montego Bay CIB is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man at Charles Drive, Granville, St.James. Dead is Robin Beckford, 36, of Pitfour, Montego Bay.

Reports are that at about 9:55 pm, residents heard explosions and called the police. When they arrived, Beckford's body was seen with gunshot wounds.

And over in St. Elizabeth, two persons, were shot, one fatally, in Watchwell district. The dead man has been identified as Harris Maxom, 57, a fisherman, while injured is his 33-year-old wife, both of Pedro Plains, St. Elizabeth.

Reports are that at about 7:20 pm, Maxom and his wife were at a business place in Watchwell. His wife was leaving the building after closing up, when she was approached by a man armed with a gun. The man robbed her of her handbag which contained an undetermined sum of money, then opened fire hitting them. The police were called and both were taken to the hospital where Maxom died and his wife was treated.

The Black River Police are investigating.
