Two men who pleaded guilty to offering a bribe to the police in Old Harbour will appear in Court on March 9 for sentencing.

The men, Wilbert Reynolds and David Miller, 45, and 30 years old respectively, of Old Harbour Bay appeared in the Old Harbour Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday before RM Lorna Errar Gayle.

They were, however, offered $100,000 bail each until a social enquiry is done by the probation department.

The appearance of both men arose out of an incident on February 7 when the police raided an illegal gambling shop and charged Sandra Banton with illegal bookmaking.

Shortly after, the two approached the arresting officer and offered to pay $30,000 not to prosecute Banton.

They were subsequently held by detectives handing over the money to the policemen who had reported the matter.

Meanwhile, Banton pleaded guilty to her charges and was fined $20,000 of 6 months hard labour.
