Taxi driver arrested in big ganja bust

The Clarendon Police on Saturday Morning seized about 5,000lb of compressed ganja in Mitchell Town in the parish.

Courtney Small, a 37-year-old taxi driver from the same community, has been charged with possession of, dealing in and taking steps to export ganja.

Reports from Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) are that at 6:30 a.m., members of a police team carried out an operation in Mitchell Town. During the operation, premises occupied by Small was searched and the drug found.

The Clarendon police and members of the Narcotics Division and Operation Kingfish are carrying out investigations into the seizure.
