Dwight Chambers, who is charged with three counts of fraudulent conversion, may have more charges slapped on him as more persons have reportedly come forward.
He was remanded in custody when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.
Chambers, 34, of a Corporate Area address, was ordered remanded after two other investigating officers came before the courts saying they had charged Chambers for a similar offence.
His attorney Patrick Bailey told the courts that his client was interested in making restitution. He added that he would ask for bail on the next court date. The matter was then set for February 16.
The accused was previously charged with three counts of fraudulent conversion. He is said to have collected $1 million and US$5,000 from a complainant between December 2005 and January 2006, for the purchase of a Toyota Prado motor vehicle.
It is alleged that Chambers did not produce the vehicle and the money was not returned.
Chambers also reportedly collected $810,000 from another complainant for the purchase of a 2004 Honda Accord which was not produced.
