A man charged with allegedly chopping another man to death was granted $250,000 bail when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court recently.
Peter Frazer, of a Corporate Area address, is charged with the murder of Errol Dunn whose body was discovered on premises on Half-way Tree Road in August last year.
Allegations are that on August 21, last year, the accused was seen running from a premises on Half-way tree road. It is alleged that the police, acting on information, went to the rear of the premises where they found the body of Errol Dunn with a wound to his neck. Further information led to the accused who the police allegedly found with bloodstains on his clothes.
He was arrested and charged.
When the matter came up for mention before R.M. Judith Pusey, the investigating officer told the court that he was not opposed to bail, but asked the court for conditions. He said they were awaiting DNA samples to find out who the blood on the accused man's clothes belonged to.
As a result, he was granted $250,000 bail with the condition that he report to the Half-way Tree Police Station every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
He is to reappear in court on February 27 when a preliminary enquiry is supposed to begin.
