67-year-old woman burnt to death

An elderly ST. THOMAS woman died in a fire which destroyed her four-bedroom house, in White Horses, on Sunday.

Dead is 67-year-old Blanch Hufman.

Reports are about 3:20 a.m., neighbours saw fire coming from a section of the house, which quickly engulfed the building. The fire brigade was called, but Hufman was burnt to death, before help could reach her.

A unit from the Morant Bay Fire Department extinguished the blaze. The body was removed to the morgue, for post-mortem examinations.
