Tantesolde will be too classy for rivals

by JIMMIE, STAR Racing Writer

TRAINER Billy Williams' TANTESOLDE, a speedy debutant, should upstage her more experienced rivals in tomorrow's 1000-metre straight Eight Thirty Sprint for maiden three-year-old fillies.

Working sweetly in the mornings, TANTESOLDE has been brought to the boil by Williams, who watched her blaze 1:00.4 seconds from the gate Wednesday morning, beating PLEASURE CRUISE.

Prior to that, the well-bred filly clocked sub-24.0 two-furlong gallops on the round course, 23.3 and 23.2, showing off her speed.

Sired by OUTRIGGER, TANTE-SOLDE's dam is VOODOO CHANT, a winner of four races and whose mother, TROPICAL MAGIC, is a half-sister to SHE'S ON WHEELS.

TANTESOLDE is a safe banker at the back-end of the 10-race card, which looks set to be dominated by champion trainer Wayne DaCosta, who should saddle at least four winners.

DaCosta should open the programme with MARK TO MARKET at 1400 metres followed by BELLA IN BLOOM at 1100 metres in the third.

The champion trainer's BULLET TRAIN will have to be caught in the fourth at 1000 metres straight and GOOD COMPANY is a cinch down in class among Overnight Allowance runners at a mile.

Pick-9 to soar

BELLA IN BLOOM, BULLET TRAIN and GOOD COMPANY are far better than their rivals and represent firm Pick-9 bankers for punters aiming at what should be a $13 million payout.

Missing since chasing home stablemate SWING BY in the 1000 Guineas last April, BELLA IN BLOOM has looked steady at exercise, clocking 1:08.3 seconds for five and a half-furlong, beaten by MARK TO MARKET on Monday morning.

BULLET TRAIN beat DIGI 'N' JIGGY in 59.2 from the gate that same morning and should prove too strong for HAFIFA, who is returning off a six-month lay-up in the fourth.

Super-six players hunting the $500,000 guarantee should use GOOD COMPANY to end SIR KHAN's win streak in the eighth.

SIR KHAN is on a four-timer but has met his match in GOOD COMPANY, who is down in class after placing third in the Grade One Harry Jackson Memorial and fourth in the Red Stripe Superstakes.

SCOTCHONTHEROCKS is also a good bet to land the sixth at 1000 metres straight as he's way down in class among $240,000 runners after placing fourth among top claimers, beaten by ESTOY LISTO at the distance last month.
