HARD LICKER

Dear Pastor

I am a 20-year-old female and after living all my life in one place, I will soon be ripped away from everything I have ever known and thrown into strange places. My family is planning to relocate to another parish to live.

My problem is I have been living a secret double life. I am bisexual and from the age of 10 I have been intimate with other females. I recently reconnected with my primary sweetheart, the first boy I had ever loved.

We have been talking a lot about the future and he wants me to move out and live with him and his kids. I love him but I also have strong feelings for women. I want to reveal my past to him but I just cannot get the nerves to confess. I know he would never approve what I do. I tried hinting to him a few times and he totally rejects female-to-female relationships.

I know I cannot renew my relationship with a lie, but shouldn't he accept me just as I am? Should I confess and risk losing the love of my life forever? Or should I take my lifestyle to my grave?

K.L Kingston

Dear K.L.

Homosexuality in any form is wrong. You should not expect this young man to accept your lifestyle. On the other hand, you are obligated to tell him that you are bisexual.

He is not expecting you to be anything else but heterosexual. This man is not expecting surprises of that magnitude after you start living together, so tell him that you are also have sexual relationships with females.

Evidently, you do not intend to try to change your lifestyle. If you have thought about abandoning your lifestyle, you could seek the help of a Christian psychologist for help. Whether you wish to change or not, tell this young man the truth.
